About The Artist:
Kristin knew her life’s purpose when she won the Hallmark Easter Coloring Contest at the age of 4, receiving the grand prize of a Barnaby Bunny stuffed animal. Years later after taking her first art class at MSSU, she knew art would definitely be a part of her future. She received a degree in Graphic Design, however her long term goal was to become a fine artist and learn techniques in oil painting.
In 2008 she began her studying oils under plein air artist, Barbara Wood Courtney. Always aware of patterns and designs in nature and her surroundings, she attempts to capture small moments that are sometimes overlooked in this busy world we live in.
When I start a painting I get butterflies in my stomach, that’s a good thing… it tells me I’m alive! Whether the painting is a success at the end of the day is irrelevant, it’s simply that I put myself out there and tried. Every time I pick up my paint brush I learn something about myself. Every time I have the opportunity to paint and be creative, is a perfect day.” Kristin Huke
